KISA – The exercise program for the social participation of children

The children's sport academy (KISA) is a program which provides a playful introduction to the body, cognition, movement and sports for primary-school children. The project helps schools to strengthen their local networks to public institutions and sports clubs, promising lasting success. Many health insurance companies support KISA courses. Still many parents struggle to raise the fees of approximately 30 Euros. The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation provides exercise grants for all courses. We are happy that it is possible to also integrate those children with special educational needs, to enthuse them for an active life and to advance their overall development. Since 2010 we cover the costs for those families who are unable to raise the necessary amount.
